Description

Ensure superior safety and compliance aboard U.S. Navy vessels with the 12 Gallon Hazardous Material Cabinet, engineered to meet stringent naval standards. This robust and secure storage solution is perfectly suited for the safe containment of flammable liquids on both ships and submarines, emphasizing a steadfast dedication to safety and regulatory compliance.

The 12-gallon royal blue U.S. Navy Hazmat Cabinet model 8612287 measures 37.5 inches in height, 23.25 inches in width, and 18 inches in depth. Constructed from 18-gauge steel with double-wall construction, this cabinet provides 1.5-inch air space for insulation and is equipped with a self-closing door featuring a 3-point self-latching system to ensure a secure seal. The innovative patented SpillSlope® shelves are designed to direct spills towards a leakproof sump, effectively containing any accidental leaks.

For enhanced safety during naval operations, U.S. Navy cabinets utilize specially designed feet which can be welded securely to the ship’s deck or hull, ensuring stability and safety even under rough conditions. Each cabinet comes with two fully adjustable galvanized shelves capable of supporting up to 350 pounds each, secured with brackets to withstand the impacts of naval activities. For greater protection from corrosive chemicals, hazmat cabinets also come with poly liners for shelves and sump.

Safe, Compliant Storage Solution Meets NAVSEA Ship Requirements

This cabinet is qualified to U.S. Navy Shock B and Vibration Testing MIL-DTL-901 and MIL-STD-167-1A standards. Additionally, it meets the requirements of the Submarine Atmosphere Control Manual, S9510-AB-ATM-010/(U), confirming its suitability for submarine use. Along with FM approval, it is also in compliance with Federal Specification AA-C-101A Type I and II, Class I and II, which further assures its quality and reliability.

Moreover, model 8612287 is approved for installation on a wide array of U.S. Navy Ships and Submarines, ensuring broad applicability across various classes of naval vessels, from aircraft carriers like the CVN 68/78 to destroyers and submarines including the SSBN/SSGN 726 and SSN 688 classes.
