Ensuring the safety and security of explosive materials is not only critical for operational success but also mandatory to comply with federal regulations. Justrite explosive magazines meet the stringent requirements set forth by the ATF 27 CFR, Part 555.208, offering reliable storage options catering to every class of explosive material. An assortment of Dynaloc™ Type 2, Type 3, and Type 4 magazines stand ready to safely secure your high and low explosives, as well as ammunition.
Categories of Explosive Materials
Federal regulations distinguish explosives based on their speed of reaction, leading to three main classifications as per ATF 27 CFR 555.202:
- High Explosives: such as dynamite and flash powders, these detonate through blasting caps.
- Low Explosives: these deflagrate when contained, including black powder and safety fuses.
- Blasting Agents: combinations of fuel and oxidizer like ammonium nitrate-fuel oil, designed for blasting and incapable of detonation with a No. 8 test blasting cap when unconfined.
Justrite offers a specialized storage option for each classification:
Dynaloc Type 2 Indoor/Outdoor Magazines – Detonator Boxes
For storing hold fuses, blasting caps, delay devices, squibs, cords and fuses inside your facility. The top-open style portable steel construction-lined hardwood cap boxes keep your explosive components or ammunition separated from the explosive materials due to risk of detonation. These units are perfect for law enforcement, military, municipal, and contractor applications.
Dynaloc Type 3 Day Boxes for Explosives
Known as "day boxes," these magazines facilitate the secure transport and short-term storage of explosives, allowing teams to move small amounts of explosives from a main storage area to operational sites or training facilities safely. Day boxes are suitable for military uses, law enforcement transport, K-9 units, and contractor needs.
Dynaloc Type 4 Magazines for Low Explosives
Constructed for both indoor and outdoor long-term storage of low explosives, all models come equipped with forklift pockets and crane lifting rings for easy handling. Find applications in storage for black powder, ammunition, and fireworks or pyrotechnics.
Justrite explosive magazine storage options ensure the safety, compliance, and peace of mind necessary for handling explosive materials across various contexts. All units are manufactured at U.S. Chemical Storage in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
