Applications for Outdoor Flammable Storage Cabinets

Construction

Consolidate the storage of fuel, fuel additives, lubricants, and solvents into one secure area, mitigating fire risks by positioning them away from other operations. Using outdoor cabinets also reduces downtime by keeping necessary supplies close at hand for equipment refueling and maintenance.

Agriculture

Ideal to house petroleum-based lubricants and flammable products used for farm equipment, allowing storage to be situated near field operations. This accessibility saves time and the mobility of these cabinets supports a fleet as it moves across different fields.

Marinas / Boat Yards

Storage cabinets in marinas and boatyards contain spills with an integral sump, preventing water pollution and avoiding environmental fines, while keeping flammable materials like fuel handy for boat servicing.

Mining

Given mining's often remote and rugged environments, outdoor flammable cabinets facilitate safe storage and spill containment for fueling equipment, crucial in areas without utility access. Additionally, the portability of these cabinets ensures they can be relocated easily with a forklift as mining operations progress.

Military

Outdoor cabinets help securely store large quantities of flammable liquids needed for refueling and maintaining equipment, while offering robust protection from potential fire hazards in conflict zones or after accidents.

Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Industries

Outdoor flammable storage cabinets are essential for safe, organized outdoor storage of samples, additives, and equipment like pumps, safeguarding against fires and spills in remote operational areas.

Safety Cabinets with Self-Closing Doors – The Safest Option for Chemical Storage

Handling chemicals in the workplace can be a straightforward task with the right equipment. Justrite flammable safety cabinets with self-closing doors simplify this process remarkably.  Not only are the self-closing doors safer in case of fire, it’s also easier to work with the cabinet doors open.

No need to prop them with something heavy, just use the fusible link as it was meant to operate. Installation is easy. While holding the door open, the user inserts the fusible link, then releases the door slowly. The link catches behind the hinge, creating tension that allows the door to remain open.

How to Use Fusible Links to Prop Cabinet Doors Open

Why Use Safety Cabinets with Self-Closing Doors?

Safest Option for Chemical Point of Use in the Workplace.

The fail-safe closing mechanism ensures three-point stainless steel bullet latching system works every time, removing the “human” element. The hidden self-closing feature ensures unobstructed access to the top shelf space, and the self-indexing doors ensure they close in the correct order, achieving a secure seal from top to bottom.

Keep Doors Open When Working with Chemicals

The self-closing doors are designed to automatically close, so when working out of the cabinet in the workplace, use the fusible link to prop doors open. If inadvertently left open in case of fire, the link will melt at 165 degrees F, slamming the doors shut to prevent fire from reaching the cabinet contents.

Meets All Fire Codes

Some states require using safety cabinets with self-closing doors, but not all of them. Since fire codes and regulations can vary by state, choosing a cabinet with self-closing doors is the only way to guarantee compliance with NFPA and IFC codes as well as authorities having jurisdiction.
