Biohazard Waste Cans
Safely Dispose of Biohazard Waste
Medical facilities, healthcare centers and research laboratories use biohazard waste cans for the safe, temporary storage of biological waste, contaminated laundry and other regulated waste (except for sharps). All Justrite biohazard waste containers meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 for the segregation of infectious waste.
OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030) applies to individuals who may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens or infectious materials on the job. It proposes safeguards for protecting these workers, which include using proper waste containers when disposing of biohazard waste. The trash container must have a "BIOHAZARD" label marketing to warn of its contents, in fluorescent orange or orange-red, with wording and symbols in a contrasting color.
