SPILL KIT FAQ

Common Questions About Spill Kits

How do I choose the right spill kit?

Start with what could spill. Oil & Fuel kits capture petroleum-based liquids and repel water. Universal kits handle oils, coolants, solvents and water-based fluids. HazChem kits are for acids, bases, caustics and other hazardous chemicals. Healthcare & Biohazard kits are for biological or cytotoxic materials.

What size spill kit do I need?

Match capacity to the largest single container or volume you could realistically release, then add margin for response time.

What’s the difference between universal and oil-only kits?

Oil-only absorbents repel water, so they work outdoors and around water. Universal absorbents take almost any non-aggressive liquid.

How do the audit tags work?

Each kit carries a tamper-evident, uniquely numbered tag. If the tag is intact, the kit hasn’t been opened; a broken tag shows the kit needs inspection or replenishment.

Can you help outfit multiple sites or buy in bulk?

Yes—tell us how many locations and what you handle, and a specialist will help standardize kits across sites.
