Justrite Products

Gas Cans and Safety Cabinets

Fires involving flammable liquids account for over 100,000 fires per year in industrial and commercial settings, and all too often have deadly consequences. Your service center is filled with people, vehicles, and equipment. With flammable liquid handling in the service area a daily occurrence, it is vital that it be handled and stored properly to prevent a catastrophe.

To achieve a best safety practice and meet applicable fire/safety standards, utilize Justrite safety cans for dispensing flammable liquids. When not in use, secure and safely store these cans in a flammable liquid safety cabinet. Self-closing devices on both minimize spills from the safety cans and ensure that safety cabinet doors will be closed in the event of a fire.

Justrite safety cabinets are available in a wide range of capacities to store from up to 90 gallons of flammable liquids in safety cans, down to benchtop storage of aerosol cans. Numerous configuration options allow for centralized storage, storage at the work area, or both. And for non-flammable hazardous liquid storage, poly cabinets are an excellent choice.

Parts Cleaners

Cleaning parts is routine for many vehicle repairs. What also must be routine for your shop is properly handling the cleaning solution which often is hazardous and can create a fire hazard in the workplace. Uncontrolled and open containers of parts cleaning solution are a problem waiting to happen. Plus, parts cleaning is not a one-size-fits-all task. Whatever your requirements, Justrite can safely perform it.

When only a small amount of cleaner is required, such as when cleaning with a rag, use plunger cans for controlled dispensing that drains any residual cleaner back into the can. Reservoir sizes range from 1 pint to 1 gallon and allow you to dispense cleaner wherever it is needed. The plunger also acts as a flame arrester, providing an additional layer of safety.

For parts washing and rinsing, Justrite has several alternatives, all designed to safely contain and control the cleaning solution. For parts immersion, the Justrite dip tank—with its 1- to 8-gallon capacity—is a convenient solution which can be used anywhere. The wash tank provides a basket to securely contain small parts while they are cleaned and is available in 1- to 6-gallon capacities. If you are looking for a proper parts cleaning station, Justrite’s floor-standing, foot-powered, parts rinse tank avoids costly power installation and provides the convenience of installing it where you need it.

Drum Storage

Drums are great for liquid storage because they are movable and easy to handle. However, their potential to cause a sizable spill—thus creating an environmental, health, and safety hazard—must be addressed. When drums are haphazardly stored and handled, incidents happen. Almost all issues with drums can be avoided with the correct equipment.

Justrite provides total protection for drum storage, whether the need be to protect the drums from fire exposure or to contain spills, leaks, and drips. Protect drums of flammable liquids from fires with our flammable liquid safety cabinets for up to 2 drums. For spill protection, drum containment pallets and accumulation centers are designed to accommodate anywhere from 1 to 8 drums.

Justrite drum handling equipment also includes a full line of drum accessories, handling devices, and drum collection centers.

Aerosol Can Disposal and Recycling

After aerosol cans have been used, they remain a potential hazard in the workplace. With contents that are under pressure and often flammable, they pose a risk if punctured or exposed to fire. An aerosol can is capable of rocketing violently about the service area, and if punctured or overheated, trailing its flammable contents. If multiple cans are involved, the situation can rapidly become dangerous for personnel and first responders alike.

In addition, aerosol cans become part of the waste stream. As waste, they continue to carry their risk with them all the way to the landfill. Justrite helps eliminate this risk with environmentally friendly Aerosolv® Aerosol Can Recycling Systems. The easy-to-operate device enables you to quickly depressurize the can and safely drain the contents, transforming it into safe, recyclable steel. This saves disposal costs and protects everyone who encounters it.

Waste Receptacles

Clean, neat, and organized workplaces are safer. Plus, it is an OSHA requirement. But this seemingly simple task is not without risk. Even when staff are instructed not to do so, a car’s ashtray might get emptied into the trash can or someone tosses a hot piece of metal into it. Unbeknownst to everyone, there is a fire beginning to smolder.

Justrite’s Cease-Fire® waste cans provides the rugged dependability of steel cans with a self-extinguishing lid. The unique design uses smoke from the fire to cut off its supply of oxygen. This ends the fire quickly and stops all of the chaos that ensues when a fire is discovered in the workplace.

Have a neater, cleaner, and safer work area by securely and safely managing your refuse. The Cease-Fire receptacle is available in 12- to 55-gallon sizes.

Oily Waste Cans

While considered an urban legend by some, oily rags can cause fires. When piled up, the oil on the rags oxidizes and produces heat. If the heat is allowed to build, the pile of rags can ignite. Though called “spontaneous combustion,” the process is anything but spontaneous, as it takes days or longer for the improperly discarded rags to generate enough heat to ignite.

Justrite helps eliminate this risk. Use our foot-operated, self-closing oily waste cans to effectively contain the rags. The can isolates the contents from potential ignition sources and reduces oxygen sufficiently to prevent spontaneous combustion. The design also allows for air flow under the can to dissipate any generated heat, as well as to prevent rust. With cans available in sizes from 6 to 21 gallons, we can provide an oily waste solution for every size garage.

Emergency Face and Eyewash Station

Whenever material gets in the eyes, usually the best solution is to flush them. When it is a strong acid such as battery acid, the rapid and continuous flushing of the eyes may be the only way to avoid a permanent eye injury.

Flushing the eyes does not mean to rinse them briefly. In most cases, OSHA/ANSI recommend that eyes be flushed continuously, with copious amounts of water, for a minimum of 15 minutes

The most effective way to accomplish this level of eye flushing is by using emergency face and eyewash stations. Justrite wall- and pedestal-mounted eye/face wash stations with a full range of options provide a high degree of assurance in the event they are needed. If your service needs take you outside of the range of your permanent eye/facewash stations, Justrite has several portable models as well to ensure protection for your staff throughout your facility.

Indoor Emergency Chemical Safety Shower

The service area is filled with all manners of hazardous liquids that pose a safety and health risk if they come in contact with the skin. The exposure can range anywhere between mild skin irritation from anti-freeze to serious chemical burns from battery acid. Someone with gasoline on their clothes is highly flammable until the gasoline and/or their clothes are removed.

When toxic contaminants get on the skin and/or clothes, the situation calls for an emergency shower to immediately flush the contaminants from the person. The rapid removal of acids, flammable liquids, or other hazardous chemicals is key to avoiding serious, and possibly permanent, injuries.

Justrite’s large and comprehensive line of emergency chemical safety showers can be installed where and how you need them. Simple to operate, these safety showers provide a sense of protection for your employees should the need arise. Address your specific needs with drench, combination, cubicle, curtain, hand-, or foot-operated chemical safety showers.

Spill Containment Cans, Berms, and Pools

Leaks and spills in the service area can become big problems if not stopped or contained quickly. While stopping a leak is always the best solution, there may be occasions where the only choice is to contain it.

If a vehicle develops a leak in the service area, it is critical to rapidly address and manage the spill. This is especially true if it is a flammable liquid such as gasoline. Quickly contain the spilling liquid with one of Justrite’s rapid deployment spill containers. Justrite’s drain cans can be placed under any leak and are also excellent for draining fluids. For larger capacities, Justrite has maintenance spill berms and pop-up pools which can contain up to 220 gallons and 150 gallons respectively.

Spill Response and Control

Spills can have a mind of their own. They can travel long distances and cause all sorts of problems on their journey. Spills can turn into serious situations quickly. Depending on the liquid, the incident can rapidly evolve into a safety and/or environmental problem. If a spill is not properly contained, it can enter gutters and storm drains and spread the contamination to the environment.

Further, if there is a spill that starts on your property, you may be held responsible for where it goes and the damage it causes. Managing a spill not only makes good safety and environmental sense; it makes financial sense to lessen your exposure.

For spill control, Justrite prepares you with water-filled booms, diverters, drain covers, and custom-length booms.

Sound Barriers

The service area can be a noisy place. Noise can be distracting, annoying, and have an adverse effect on employee morale. It can be off putting to customers as well as they try to understand what needs to be done to their vehicle. However, the most important consideration is that noise can be a safety and health issue.

Hearing loss due to noise exposure in the workplace is now a hot-button topic for agencies such as OSHA, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). They expect employers to be conscious of noise levels in work areas and take the appropriate steps to mitigate the issue.

Justrite sound barriers can be quickly erected to absorb and shield sound and reduce the perceived sound level by half. This protects your employees’ hearing and keeps your shop noise level manageable. So now, your impact wrench need not be the only thing people hear when they walk into your service area.

Gas Cylinder Equipment

In maintenance areas, compressed gas cylinders are commonplace for activities such as cutting and welding. Handled incorrectly, a gas cylinder can turn into a devastating missile. If the valve assembly is sheared off, the discharge of compressed gas can launch the cylinder violently about the service area. And even worse, if the gas is flammable, an explosion or fire may ensue.

Many non-fire-related gas cylinder incidents are the result of mishandling or improperly storing a gas cylinder. Left unsecured and free-standing, gas cylinders are top-heavy and can easily tip over, resulting in injuries or property damage.

Justrite has the gas cylinder handling equipment that allows you to manage gas cylinders safely and efficiently. Our equipment is specifically designed to prevent cylinder valve damage and maintain your cylinders in the safest state possible.

Move cylinders about the area and secure them in place with Justrite’s gas cylinder hand trucks, carts, and forklift cylinder pallet racks. Secure stationary cylinders with a wide selection of cylinder storage brackets and stands and cage cabinet lockers.

Eagle Products

Traffic and Pedestrian Safety

With all the customers and technicians moving vehicles in and out of staging areas and service bays, the parking lots and vehicle traffic areas around your garage can be dangerous. Help prevent parking lot accidents by using Eagle traffic management equipment to safely move vehicles throughout your service areas. Mark service lanes with steel bollards, poly guide-posts, clearance bars, and parking stops.

Ensure your customers vehicles are also protected from damage caused by striking objects when moving throughout the service center, with Eagle plastic column and pole protectors, bollard covers, and wall and corner guards.

Drum Handling Equipment

Drums are an excellent way to manage your service fluids. With the right equipment, they can also double as a dispensing station. But their weight and round shape make moving them by hand challenging and risky. Plus, drums require protection from the elements or environment. Safely and conveniently move drums in the service area with Eagle drum dollies. We also offer vertical and horizontal drum lifters which allow the safe maneuvering of drums up to 1000 lbs. with lifting equipment.

Keeping the drum clean and functional is also important. Eagle drum covers protect the top of the drum while it is on the dolly. When storing drums outdoors, use Eagle’s drum tarps to protect them from the elements. Keep drums out of standing water with drum trays.

Salvage Drum

Spills happen, especially in service areas, so being prepared for them is key. However, once the spill is cleaned up, there may be a sizable quantity of contaminated absorbent pads, booms, and oil-dry to contend with. It cannot be treated like regular trash. These items must be handled and disposed of properly per hazardous waste disposal requirements.

While awaiting disposal, safely and securely contain contaminated materials in an Eagle salvage drum. The secure lid and oil- and chemical- resistant construction provides safe containment for contaminated materials.

Available in 20- to 95-gallon capacities, salvage drums also make an excellent storage location for your service area spill response equipment.

Checkers Products

Many garages have utilities, cables and wires all across the floor in the service area. Power, cables, water, compressed air, and lubricants may all need to be piped to their end use point, which can be challenging. In many cases, the only option is to run them over the floor or ground where they are subject to personnel and vehicle travel.

Checkers’ supplies cable protectors and ramps ideal for such applications. Depending on the amount of vehicle traffic you expect, Checkers has heavy-duty and medium-duty cable covers with up to five channels.

Light-duty, low-profile, and ADA-compliant cable covers are available for pedestrian areas. These protect your cords, wires and hoses while helping to prevent tripping hazards.

Hose Bridges and Tunnels

Some service areas may need to pass a hose through a location with vehicle traffic, which could pose an issue of vehicles running over your hoses. Checkers hose bridges and tunnel systems offer a safe solution to keep your hoses functioning without affecting traffic or vehicle flow. Whether installed temporarily or permanently, both systems protect hoses while allowing vehicles to pass safely over them.
